John Toro Rendón : ウィキペディア英語版 | John Toro Rendón
John Jairo Toro Rendón〔(Profile )〕 (born April 4, 1958) is a retired Colombian football referee. He is known for having refereed one match in the 1998 FIFA World Cup in France, the Group C match between Denmark and South Africa, during which he handed out seven yellow cards and three reds, most of which were widely regarded as without merit. The Dansk Boldspil-Union protested against the referee after this match.〔http://www.caracol.com.co/nota.aspx?id=54117〕 The sending off of two Danish players was considered especially egregious and was most likely the reason he was never selected to referee in a World Cup again. The two Danes he sent off were both substitutes and had not already received a yellow card and none of their faults were regarded as worth more than a warning. The South African player sent off, a substitute as well, already had a yellow card but was sent off by a direct red card which was regarded as a very harsh decision. In addition, he was a referee at the 1991 FIFA Women's World Cup. ==References==
